Its Friday 27th, a calendar month since the start of his walk. Frank is still on the US50, but only for a short while longer. This town has about 150 houses a service station and shop with a phone where Frank is making his call. He expands on the story about sleeping behind a church mentioned on Wednesday and tells us that he saw a nice grassy spot by the church and asked some people if he could use it to pitch his tent. They agreed and suggested he should come to their meeting inside. This lasts over one and a half hours with a fundamentalist preacher making a 45 minute revivalist sermon. Frank is then treated to the left over food from their earlier meeting finishing with delicious chocolate cake, leaving spiritually and physically nourished to sleep in his tent just outside. Ohio is level gently undulating farming country not dissimilar to Norfolk where Frank lives normally, though maybe a tiny bit less flat. He was due to walk for another 2 hours before pitching his tent for the night on a friendly local's land.

He had just given himself a rest by having his first day off for a month and relaxing, after booking into a motel for 2 nights. Tomorrow, he should make Cincinatti and shortly afterwards the state of Indiana.
