Frank is still in Missouri only 35 miles from the State of Kansas.

He is expected to cross the border in the next few days, heading for his next major destination :- Norwich, Kansas, population 435! Eldorado springs has 3 garages, 2 banks a general store and a cafe. Frank stands out from its usual inhabitants as he is quite tanned and slim in his shorts and straw hat and provokes questions from locals as to what a 60 year old man is doing walking this way! Last year thy had a coast to coast cyclist but Frank is quite unique in these parts. He has walked over 1200 miles. Today he walked 17 miles. His feet are OK as he managed to get a new pair of walking boots in St Louis (see earlier pages).

The weather has turned after the long unseasonably hot spell followed by the cool spell last week where he made good progress. This week has gone the other way and he has had miserable weather with rain, wind and cool temperatures. This has put Frank off camping so he has booked a motel for the night.

He sends his regards to Mike Souter who is helping to arrange some of his future plans including the reception planned in Norwich Kansas still over 200 miles further down the trail.
