There was no broadcast on Friday the 13th because Frank was unable to contact the radio station.As it was Good Friday they had a different DJ that night who didn't appear to know anything about Frank's walk and was too busy hosting a phone-in about garden sheds. However, there were some developments around this time. Frank's walking partner Alex who was due to walk as far as St Louis reluctantly had to give up his part in Frank's trek due to his blisters. As you may recall in my previous update I mentioned the blisters that they both developed walking on the long flat route by the canal. Unfortunately, with the next part being more uphill the condition got worse to the point he could not carry on. Alex flew back on the 17th April arriving back in Norwich on the 18th. Frank reached Clarksburg West Virginia on the 14th April and was visiting the rail trail. He is continuing and we hope will have his usual report back to Radio Norfolk on Friday as normal. I will update these pages with any further news.
